*NOTE: WE ARE FRAGRANCE FREE FOR HEALTH REASONS. We will have fun playing a competitive game of pinochle or other card games members want to introduce. There are many variations to this game. We just need to learn the basics first. There are many websites on pinochle, and they all teach the basics, such as what counts as meld, trump, and pointers. Don't concern yourself with a lot of the other stuff. We will learn that as we go along. For the experienced, we do follow the basic must follow s …

Do you like playing boardgames and/or friendly card games, but had difficulty finding like minded friends? I did too! If you build it.... they will come! And, YAY! Here you are! This group is for seasoned boardgamers/cardgamers as well as for novices. Bring a game that you enjoy playing (bring two!) or learn a new game fr …
Welcome to the NY Mostly Go Club! The "Mostly" is there since it's fun to do other things besides Go once in a while. For example, dinner or drinks after a tough tournament, a picnic with Go boards under blooming cherry trees in spring, whatever fun things we can think of. We'd love to meet other people who are interested in the game of igo/weiqi/baduk in the NYC area. Don't know how to play but saw it on some TV show or something and want to see what the game is about? We also host NYAMIGO Beg …

A group of people that play silly games and serious eurogames.
There are so few places where we as gay men, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgenders can meet each other in person outside of bars. We've found that it's much easier to meet friends and partners in an environment that is fun doing an activity that isn't focused on meeting new people. You can just sit down with us and play an old favorite game or learn a new one. We tend toward strategy games, but word games and party games are welcome.
We have an established, friendly, group of people that play serious eurogames and some lighter games. Please come out and join us!

I am taking over this meetup since the former organizer is not doing it any more. I am definitely open to adding co-organizers, so please let me know if you want to do that. And/or if you can host an event at your place or a venue that you know and like. I am asking for $1 from everyone when they come to a meetup event to help with the cost of having this meetup site - it's $12/month so 2 meetups per month with 6 people at each should do it. I am not trying to make $ but don't really want to cov …

In the good old days, people used to get together at each other's homes, play board games, each person brought a snack, and enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere. This will offer an alternative if you're not into "happy hours", drinking or having to pay for a dinner. Backgammon, chess, checkers, card players, Uno, Dominos etc. We can get together feeling like we just stayed in, this way you can be as casual as you like, and just hang out. Talking, listening to music, and with warmer weather, we can gathe …

Nyeek is a social get together for board game enthusiasts in the New York City area. If that sounds kind of geeky let me assure you that it absolutely is. We play all types of board games (abstract, party, thematic), but we tend to lean towards Euro Games. Games that usually have simple rules, relatively short playing times, and no player elimination, so they’re pretty accessible to newcomers. If you want to know more feel free to check out the (still being written) FAQ, but in a nutshell we're …
