This group is for anyone who enjoys board gaming, whether modern (Dominion, Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, etc) or traditional (Scrabble, Sorry, Monopoly, etc). We host an open bi-weekly event where folks can drop in on a game or bring their own to play with others!
BLOC is the Boardgamers League of Canton. We are dedicated to bringing people together for the pleasure of playing board games. All are welcome, rules for games will be taught.
Are you aware of the many advances that have happened in Board and Card games? Games have evolved far beyond Monopoly, Life, Scrabble and the such. Have you seen games like Ticket to Ride, Pandemic, or Settlers of Catan on shelves and wondered what makes these games cost so much? Or have you already joined the bandwagon and enjoy these, and others like them, and would like to play with like minded people? Then please come to this Meetup to play games and have fun.
Let's get together to read great books and play fun games! Each month we will pick new books to read and discuss, and each month we will pick a night and place to play different games (think Apples to Apples and Scattergories, etc.). Come to laugh, share stories and make new friends!
I started this group because I love board games and wanted to find others that love to play them as well. I have contacted a local retailer who has agreed to host the group at his store. He provides the space, we provide the games! We tend to focus on strategy games like Agricola, Puerto Rico, Power Grid, etc. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
This group is for fellow board game players who like Scrabble, Upwords, Pictionary, Trivial Pursuit and other popular board games. Sorry but we generally don't play card games using a regular deck of 52 cards, Dungeon and Dragon/Fantasy type games, chess, checkers, mahjong, backgammon or gender based games.
