This is a group for anyone who is interested in strategy gaming in its many face to face forms. This would include Miniatures, either Historical or Sci-Fi/Fantasy, strategy oriented boardgames from euro games to historical boardgames, or euro style card games. I started this group so I could meet other gamers in a social atmosphere and local, or close to Pittsburg, Antioch, Oakley, Brentwood. Looking forward to gaming with everyone.
This meetup has been going on since about November 2011, as a place to organize weekly game nights. We play mostly Euro-style strategy games, such as those found on boardgamegeek.com. So, experienced strategy gamers are preferred but if you don't mind learning some relatively complicated rules, we are happy to teach. We are always looking to recruit others to the die-hard boardgamer cult. Welcome!

We meet semi-regularly in the El Sobrante area (near Pinole and San Pablo), in the back of the El Sobrante public library (atop the site of an old Huichin village and burial ground). We are generally not hardcore gamers and hope to share a large spectrum of game play. We have played such games as Arkham Horror, Descent, Munchkin, Resistance, and Monopoly. Currently we are meeting semi-regularly (c.f. El Sobra …

This group is for 30-40 somethings who prefer enjoying a homecooked meal instead of a crowded restaurant or a boardgame get together instead of a noisy bar. We enjoy the company of others and want to build community but don't really dig the party scene. Looking forward to getting together for picnics, afternoon canning and quaint potluck dinners.

I've started this group because I'm a huge fan of the strategy boardgame, Agricola. This group is for fellow fans who'd like a regular chance to play the game, build skills, etc. Newbies are welcome...we'll teach the game to you. People who own the game (and all the expansion cards) are *particularly* welcome.
My wife and I just moved from the North Bay where I had a weekly D&D group to the East Bay (Concord) where we don't know anyone. I'm not interested in starting another D&D/RPG group, as it just eats up too much of my time/energy and my work schedule has become too unpredictable to allow me to play steady at a D&D table right now. I work at a Hotel and work some weird hours (swings and graveyards) and my days off can shift around. That's why I'm looking to start a more casual gaming group. This w …

I am a member of a bunch of fun MeetUp groups, but many are far away. This one is to try and round up more local people for my favorite interests. This group is for all of us who live in Concord and beyond and still want to have fun but with a little less driving. The hope is for us to be able to find some local people who like to do whatever it is we like to do or, at the least, meet some cool people in the area. We've got some great local resources out here, and we're well situated for esc …

Backgammon Club in Antioch, CA. Want to learn a fascinating game or re-create an old one? The game of backgammon is one of the oldest two-person board games in history. We will play two matches every Tuesday night and the player with the most wins at the end of each month will get a free personal pizza, donated by Mountain Mike's Pizza. Come get your game on and meet new people e …

Dominion is a fun, easy to learn, deck building card game. Each player starts with an identical, very small deck of cards. In the center of the table is a selection of other cards the players can "buy" as they can afford them. Through their selection of cards to buy, and how they play their hands as they draw them, the players construct their deck on the fly, striving for the most efficient path to the precious victory points by game end. 2-5 players. The game usually takes 30-45 minutes. No gam …
