I may be looking to start a 2nd edition D&D campaign for old school players. I have all the essential core rulebooks and the only one I am missing is the 2nd edition Monster Manual. Anyone that would be interested in playing, just let me know.

I'm interested. Have you thought about running OSRIC or Labyrinth Lord? 2nd edition is fine by me though, it was the last edition worth playing (IMHO).
What kind of schedule are you looking at for the sessions and what part of town would they be held in? |

Probably on Saturdays or Sundays. As for location, we live in the galleria area and could have it at our place. Only thing is, we have alot of pets. It wouldn't be a problem for us to drive to someone's place to play the game. The one thing that I would like to try, is something used in a tabletop game I just played recently concerning movement. To me, moving square by square is boring and too time consuming. I liked the concept of having your movement rate measured by retractable rulers. 6 inches for normal move rate, and 12 inches for running. It also works great for range measurements.

We used to mark a piece of twine at 3" 6" 9" 12". Makes it easy to measure when you arent running away from the dragon in straight line.
Galleria is not too far for me. I live on 290 and Fairbanks so maybe I could possibly host at some point as well. |

James, you really should take a look at Savage Worlds if you haven't yet, I think you'd like it and it would give you that old school D&D flavor in a game with minimumal prep time on the GM's part. |

I do like the idea of having a character sheet with a paper doll marking off slot areas for equipment. It's kinda like how old-school D&D pc games like Eye of the Beholder. Since I am a graphic designer. I could make up the character sheets and print them off. I have been running through some ideas of a game world, but nothing defined yet.

Saw your post on 4th edition and I pretty much agree. I pretty much consider myself semi-retired from D&D after the travesty of D20, but might not mind if someone else ran a good game from an earlier edition.
I also wouldnt mind hosting. We are in Huffman and play every Sunday. I could add from 1-5 people to the group depending on what you want or need. We have a big house and large table too. Some cats. I have 28 years XP as a dm/player and 5 of my own worlds. You could also use any of the published D&D worlds I have, though I am always much more interested to see what other people can come up with when they put some effort in to the game, as long as it isnt to weird/tweaked/psychedelic... |

Huffman is just a little bit too far at these gas prices. The only way we could possibly do is to find people that are interested in playing, willing to drive that far, or carpool.

Totally understandable. And I have no AC in my car!
Luckily one of my players drives from Montrose area each week, so there are carpool possibilities there. |
