To Susan and Evan: I will only be there until 2:30pm, so depending on how long Tigris & Euphrates takes, I might be able to get one more quick game in before I leave. Evan, I would LOVE to try Pandemic.

Of course, I would be willing to get to the Library early if anyone is interested in starting before Noon. The library opens at 9am.

I checked out your collections on GameGeek.

If you want to arrive at the library around noon, I like to play Ticket to Ride and /or Wits and Wagers (or both and more!).

I played Puerto Rico only once (near the end of a game marathon day). I was second in three -- so I still need some guidance to play.

I guess I will make it my Sunday project to add my collection on Game Geek. I have mostly simple party games: Apples to Apples, Scatergories, Taboo, Scrabble.

Probably the most "complicated" game I have is Solarquest. It's like monopoly, except you collect solar systems. You also have to track your fuel consumption and buy fuel (run out of fuel, you lose). In addition to buying planets, charging rent, and you can improve them by adding fuel stations.

Justin & Evan: The box claims Tigris & Euphrates takes 1-2 hrs. It has a moderate learning curve, and some fairly complex rules, so if we play it, it will probably be on the high side of that spectrum, especially with rule learning/review.

Alene:
I *think* I've played Ticket to Ride... it looks awfully familiar. I've seen it mentioned a lot around here, it'd be cool to play again.

Puerto Rico is a little rough on new players, it's one of those that requires playing at least a whole game just to get a solid grasp on the rules, never mind strategy, but after a few plays it becomes much easier to wrap your brain around. It's amazing how it remains challenging and interesting no matter how many times you play, though.

I'm a fan of party games, too. Apples to Apples is one of my favorites. I will make a fool of myself playing Scrabble, though. As a child of the spell check/Internet generation, I'm better at inventing words than spelling real ones.

I will be at the library right at noon, for those that want to get playing. I'll make sure that I bring ticket to ride for those that want to play, but it will have to go with me at 2:30pm. I'll also bring some shorter games just in case there isn't enough time left to play a full blown game.

See everyone there.

I'm a grizzled Tigris & Euphrates pro so I could probably help with the rules explanation.

Pandemic is a fairly quick game and is quite fun. I'll bring a couple of other things as well and will plan on being there at noon.

It's been a while since I played T&E, but I have it, so I'll review the rules beforehand. Between you and me, Evan, we can make it as quick and painless as possible.

Pandemic looks really interesting. I've defiantly never played that one.

See you all tomorrow @ noon!

Hey guys. I had a great time playing T&E. Wish I could have stayed longer. What else did ya'll (make you feel more at home, Susan?) play?

Lets see... Evan taught us how to play Pandemic, it's cool, pretty easy to learn but challenging enough to be fun. Then we taught Chris how to play some good ol' Hunters & Gatherers, Dave joined us on the first round. Chris schooled us on how important fields are to your end game score. ;) Good times!
