John's "Money Pit" information:
Location:
8490 Remington Drive
Pittsburgh PA 15237
Things to do:
Volleyball, bocce ball, basketball (half court), a little league field, a creek and a great firepit are all on-site. Bring your adventurous spirit, your sense of joy, YOB (your own booze), a dish to pass and a small donation ($5.00 suggested) for the sirloin burgers, gourmet hotdogs and grilled chicken. and BJB2 (Bring John Beer Too)
I have about 20+ chairs, and the neighbors toss in a few tables, but it would be helpful and good if you bring your own camp chair. We could use a few extra tables and coolers filled with ice for community beverages.
This is definitely a kid friendly event. Bring your whiffle balls, kickballs, Frisbees, crick walking shoes, and your youthful exuberance to enjoy the day. bring a silly board game, bring water balloons, bring a surprise, just come with an expectation to have fun and meet old friends and new people.
We will also have a nice bonfire (very helpful to have that camp chair for this) and will have s'mores (I have a fair amount of these fixings), mountain pies (I do NOT have mountain pie makers anymore...sigh; bring pie makers and fixings!) Does anybody know where the name "S'mores"
came from? Just asking, knowledge is power.
parking is available on the street and in a huge grass lot behind an auto repair shop off of Peebles. This lot is adjacent to the ball field and just across the crick from my backyard.
Adult beverages will be consumed. As always, drinking and driving is not encouraged. Overnight accommodations are available for any and all.
reminders: this is a BYOB, BJB2, bring a dish to pass (this can include other beverages ie. water, juice) and $5.00 donation requested picnic.
We truly look forward to seeing everyone at this Picnic, Volleyball, Bocceball, BBQ and Bonfire event!
When you RSVP please indicate (if you know) what you intend to bring.
See you soon!
warm regards, John
