Join the "All Meetups Picnic" sponsored by the Pittsburgh Meetup Organizer Meetup Group. This event will bring together Meetup members from a wide variety of groups for a fall picnic. It will be a nice chance for us to have our own picnic while participating in a larger event. I'm heading up the Planning Committee and I've secured one of the nicer groves at North Park. This grove is great because: Willows is located near the intersection of Babcock Blvd and Ingomar Rd / Wildwood Rd If you are familiar with North Park (if not, use yahoo maps), it is near the 7/11 Exxon Station at 1350 Wildwood Road, Gibsonia PA 15044 The shelter has electricity for your crock pots and boom boxes The shelter has tables for us to play Board Games Near a playground making this a kid friendly event Near a very large, level grassy field ideal for park games (Bocce, Badminton, Volleyball, Croquet, ring toss, water balloon toss . . . Near a hiking Trail Near the lakes paved trail for walking, biking, rollerblading, etc There is a small $1.00 fee per adult to help cover the cost of the permits. Bring your picnic baskets, coolers (alcohol allowed), blankets and/or lawn chairs, park games, board games, and anything to help make this event a success. Some important points regarding events at North Park: No glass containers No weapons No distribution of literature Have a good time! Let me know if you would like to help plant this event http://www.allegheny county.us/parks/npfa c.aspx

Gaming Association of Southwestern PA (GASP) hosts Game Days from noon until midnight on the second Saturday of each month. Bring your favorite game or just show up and join the action. Games Day is free and open to the public and new gamers are always welcome. This is a "kid friendly" event. I attended in August and was amazed at how well behaved the kids were (no whining). I was there from about 1:30 to 6:30. People arrived and departed throughout the day, but the tables always seemed full of players (about 40 in the room at a time). So when new people arrived -- that meant new snacks in the kitchen! The game room is NOT air conditioned -- so dress to be comfortable -- maybe even bring a fan along with enough snacks to share througout your play stay and $5 cash to chip in on pizza at dinnertime. **** correction to email: it is NOT all you can eat pizza. $5 will pay for 4 VERY generous slices of pizza.**** The event location IS very easy to get to -- avoid the parkways and take Route 65 to the make a left on the Sewickley bridge, turn left onto University Blvd, go approximately 0.8 miles to right on Thorn Run Road, go 1.8 miles to left on Snyder, 0.4 mile to left on Coraoplis Heights Road. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Montour Heights Country club golf course as you travel another 0.4 miles to the church. Go to the following link for more information about this game group. http://www.gaspgamer .com/ There is a "Top 10" list and also a "completist" list of the games their hundreds of attendees have played during their past several events.

Bring: your favorite board game(s) your appetite and money for wings/food--it has been requested by BW's that each person spend around $10 http://www.buffalowi ldwings.com/ Directions can be found by visiting the Buffalo Wild Wings website and they have a link to a map and directions button. Buffalo Wild Wings is at the corner of Route 8 and Grandview Crossing Drive by Target. Also, just to let you know, the management wanted to remind us that we will have a server and to be mindful of tips and ordering food. They also do not allow playing card games (i.e. poker, rummy and such with a traditional 52 card deck) or gambling as it is not allowed with their liquor license. Board games are fine. Always welcome suggestions for planning the next game playing date(s) and location as we wrap things up at this meeting.

I previously sent an email about this event ..... I copied and pasted this from their website: "Game Days are from noon until midnight (usually) on the second Saturday of each month (August will be an exception). Bring your favorite game or just show up and join the action. Games Day is free and open to the public and new gamers are always welcome. " There will also be a game silent auction. This is your opportunity to pick up games at a great price and help to support this organization. Go to the following link for directions and more information about this game group. http://www.gaspgamer .com/ There is a "Top 10" list and also a "completist" list of the games their hundreds of attendees have played during their past several events. Previous attendees have mentioned the game room was NOT air conditioned -- so dress to be comfortable -- maybe even bring a fan along with enough snacks to share througout your play stay and cash to chip in on pizza at dinnertime. Let me know if I posted TMI or not enough!
