Adventure games generally have each player running a character within the game, such as a fantasy hero (Runebound) or a 1920s investigator (Arkham Horror), and they simulate a heroic or fantastic quest or story on the board. They are different from Roleplaying Games (RPGs), but are something of a cross between an RPG and a typical boardgame. These games also tend to play much longer than typical boardgames, up to 2-4 hours.
The rules for these games can also be quite involved, so please arrive as close to the start time as possible so rules explanations can occur and play can start. We should be able to get two or more "sessions" of games in.
Two games of primary focus for this day (meaning we have some interest for them already) are Runebound and Arkham Horror. You can find some information for these games on boardgamegeek.com at these links:
Runebound
Arkham Horror
If you have a preference for playing either of the above, please indicate so in your RSVP.
Food & Drink:
We will likely order food around "dinnertime", but there will also be the usual snacks (pretzels, chips, cheese & crackers, etc - tends to vary.) Feel free to bring your preferred snacks to share.
I'll stock a few 2-liters of random sodas for consumption, plus we have filter water in the fridge. Feel free to BYOBeverage if you have a preference.
FYI: On Finding Kurt's House:
Google Maps and Mapquest both have accurate directions, but house numbers are not very visible at night.
Our house is the single story house directly in front of you once you turn into the cul-de-sac.
Pet and allergy alert:
Please check the following post for pet (and potential allergy) details for all events at Kurt's House: http://boardgames.mee...
