Atlanta Game Fest 15

Four Days of Fun & Games! January 28-31, 2010 The Atlanta Game Fest is a chance for boardgame fans from across the Southeast to gather for four days of fun and games. That's right, this is now a four-day event! There will be hundreds of the world's best boardgames available for play as well as friendly folks who can help with the rules. Memberships for all four days are $40 each, $65 per couple and $80 per family. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. You can pay at the door or in advance at the Atlanta Game Fest site. Due to space limitations, single day memberships are not available! We have secured a fantastic room rate! Single or double room for $59! Why fight Atlanta traffic when you can stay and play? See hotel info for more details. I recommend you make your reservations early, you can cancel up to a day in advance with no charge. The cut-off date for this rate is December 23, 2009. I'll try to get that moved to a later date, but that is it for now.

Had a great time meeting new people and playing new games. Some were from out of town, but there is a surprising number of folks who are local that I didn't know about.

More folks showed up than Ward had anticipated so things got kinda crowded. Other than that, it was awesome! People brought hundreds of games, the hotel was in a decent location, there were plenty of fun folks to play with, and even candy to munch on! What more could a game want?!? There were even large numbers of women! I think there were 40 or more women there. Those of us who have been doing this for more than a few years can appreciate how scarce women in this hobby used to be. It's great to see them coming out to play with us gaming geeks!
Carole and I have enjoyed this game-fest in the past and plan on attending as many future get-togethers as we can fit into our schedule.

Sure wish I could have been there more, but it was great while I was! I really don't know how many people were there but I know when I got there at 11 on Saturday night it was a FULL room!

Thanks to everyone who attended, these just get better and better. I couldn't have selected a nicer group of folks to attend. Sorry about the tight space for gaming, I hope to workk out everything so we have plenty of space in May.

I'm very excited about this next fest. We are in a new hotel with very reasonable room rates of $59, why fight Atlanta traffic when you can stay and play? We will also have the nicest space to play in we've ever had in Atlanta, hope you can make it.
