Big Search Tournament

Hi Everyone,

In early October I am participating in a Geocaching event called the Big Search, which is a GPS Scavenger Hunt Event raising money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada, and I am trying to come up with ways to fundraise money for my team.

My first idea was to host a board game tournament in September - a four player game, one game a week Monday-Thursday culminating with the final game on Friday night (played by the winners of the previous 4 nights). This would be a 50/50 style game with a buy-in of $20.00. Half the proceeds going to the winner and half going to my fundraising initiative in the name of the winner (any donation over $20.00 receives a tax receipt from the Big Brothers Big Sisters Foundation). My game of choice for this event is the original Settlers as I know there are a lot of people out there who really enjoy this game and I may be able to get the best response with it but I am open to suggestions. We have a number of games here and I think that some of the best to have a tournament with might be:

• Stone Age
  

Given that Fallcon happens around the same time as when I was hoping to have the event, I was thinking that maybe it could run evenings from the 21st to the 25th.
