SUMMARY:Afterhours Boardgaming @ The Sentry Box
DESCRIPTION:The Calgary Boardgames Meetup Group\n\nThis is the usual Thursd
ay night gaming session at the Sentry Box. As the Sentry Box will technica
lly be closed\, you need to go to the back entrance to be let in if you arr
ive after normal store closing (which is at 6pm). There will be many store
demo copies on hand and I will be around to help if people need it. I can m
ake periodic trips downstairs if people want to buy a specific item or food
and pop. It's possible if you turn up after 6.30pm that you may have to w
ait to get into a game but hopefully there will be enough people around tha
t everyone should get in a game right away. Don't be shy about asking other
  people to play!!\n\nCalgary\, AB T3G 5N2 - Canada\n\nThursday\, December

SUMMARY:Brentwood Coop Meetup & Annual Christmas Game Exchange
DESCRIPTION:The Calgary Boardgames Meetup Group\n\nTime for our ANNUAL CHRI
STMAS GAME EXCHANGE! Where: Brentwood Coop Auditorium. Enter through main
doors\, turn right\, take another right at the bakery section and head down
stairs to the auditorium. When: Dec 19th from 1pm to 9:30pm. The game exch
ange will start at 4pm. If you want to participate\, make sure you arrive b
efore 3:30 and are present at 4pm for the draw. Otherwise\, this will be an
open gaming event just like any other. The game exchange is completely opt
ional. Here's how the game exchange works: - anybody who wishes to partici
pate can bring along one (1) game from their collection that they are willi
ng to donate to the pool - this game must be in mint (new) to excellent sha
pe (played once or twice but otherwise perfect) - recommended value between
$25-$50 (as long as it's worth at least $25 I don't really care how genero
us you are!) - participating gamers will get a ticket when they add their g
ame to the pool - I'll draw names or numbers out of a hat\, first person dr
awn gets to pick a game first from the pile. I'll proceed with the name dra
wing until everyone has a game. -I'll seed the pool with a couple extra gam
es (you're more than welcome to do the same). Participants will then go thr
ough the remaining games in reverse order. By doing so\, the people who pic
ked last will get an opportunity to draw a 2nd time from the pile. That way
they don't totally get shafted. -If by some miracle we have enough games f
or a 3rd go around\, then we will start the game drafting again\, this time
from 1st to last (I suspect this won't happen). Those of you interested i
n trading games may also wish to participate in a Math Trade organized by M
arc Boulet. Details of the computer optimized trading scheme can be found
at the link above. Combined with our Annual Game Exchange\, the Math Trade
is a great way of turning your duds into new favorites. If you don't manage
to trade your games away in the Math Trade\, bring them to the Meetup for
the game exchange. > What kinds of games do you play? We play a variety of
board and card games at this event. If you have any specific types of game
s you wish to play\, please bring them with you but there is always plenty
to choose from. Please visit Board Game Geek for more details on the kinds
of games we play. > I don't know how to play these games There is nothing
to worry about as there are plenty of people who are more than willing to t
each games. Members are friendly\, enthusiastic and love games and gaming!
  > Atmosphere We strive to foster an environment of fun so bring along a fr
iend or three. > Any cost? The venue and event are totally free! Just com
e and enjoy. > Outside food or drink? No outside food or beverages are pe
rmitted. Visitors are able to purchase food/drink at the venue if they desi
 re.\n\nCalgary\, AB T2P 1J9 - Canada\n\nSaturday\, December 19 at 1:00 PM\
