I thought this time, just to try something different, instead of saying I would post what I have, I'd actually try doing it.
This is a radical new approach for me, and if it works it may change the way lots of things go in my life. Here's what I have in no particular order. It's probably a small list compared to what a lot of other people here have, and a lot of the things are common enough that everyone probably has them, but I'll put it out here and if there's anything anyone wants me to bring just ask. I'd be interested in seeing what other people have in their closets. Monopoly Sequence Chess Backgammon Risk (Several versions, actually, including a couple of complete sets of the old wooden pieces.) Castle Risk (Of course.) Munchkin (Plus all expansion sets.) Munchkin Fu (Plus all expansion sets.) Star Munchkin (Plus all expansion sets.) Munchkin Bites (Don't have the expansion for this yet.) Nuclear War (Plus all expansions. A card game that simulates, well, nuclear war. Sort of. But in a good way.) Settler's of Catan (Travel Version) Panzer Leader (WW2 armor. It's been so long since I've played that I can't even remember how to.) Squad Leader (WW2 squad level combat. Likewise.) Richtofen's War (WWI biplanes, the basic game is pretty simple and quick to learn) Kingmaker (Try to control the crowned king of England by the end of the War of the Roses. Fairly complex, but there's something very satisfying about beheading a royal heir because he's become politically inconvenient.) Wooden Ships and Iron Men (Combat in the age of sail. A classic that I never get tired of playing. Command the great sailing ships of yesteryear; use them to send the other great sailing ships of yesteryear to the bottom of the drink.) Circus Maximus (Roman chariot racing. Another classic that I'm always willing to teach to anyone who will sit still. This and WS&IM are probably my two all-time favorites. Relatively easy to learn, fast-paced, and blindingly violent. Everything a game should be.) Sucking Vacuum (The air is leaking out of the space station. There are six people on board and only two seats in the escape pod. It's not hard to predict what happens from there. The concepts of "winner" and "loser" are pretty black-and-white in this game.) There are probably others that I haven't remembered. If I think of them I'll post them. |

Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots (does that count as a game?) Sure, why not? Especially if bystanders get to bet on the fights. |

The list may not be complete, but here are most of our games. Years of acquisition adds up to a mighty horde. I honestly thought I had more European Style games, but I guess I just play other people's. Who needs more when you have the beauty that is Oasis?
Pirate Themed Games Dread Pirate Pirateer Mutiny Loot European Style Board Games Oasis Amun-Re Tutankhamen Spanc Carcassone (with all expansions) Cheap Ass Games Lord of the Fries Give me the Brain Renfield Witch Trial Save Doctor Lucky (+ Moon Base Copernicus expansion) US Patent # 1 Captain Park's Imaginary Polar Expedition Timeline The Big Idea "Card" Games Monkeys on the Moon Quiddler Labyrinth Peon Lupus in Tabula Man Bites Dog Fluxx Weed Chrononauts Burn Rate Stuff You'd Find at Toys-R-Us Urban Myth Scruples Dirty Minds Mapquest Monopoly Imaginiff Oodles Jenga TriBond Wise and Otherwise Curses Taboo Clue Spaceopoly Chutes and Ladders (but you gotta get me drunk first) Plus some two player board games. Oops. I knew I'd think of things I forgot to mention. Here's one --
Awful Green Things from Outer Space: They're awful, they're from outer space, they're green (never a good sign) and they are taking over the good spaceship Znutar. Play the green things and try to devour the crew, or play the crew and try to keep from being devoured. Again -- simple objectives. |

That sounds like fun. I like the humor themed games. I think that's why the Cheap Ass Games line is so much fun.

That sounds like fun. I like the humor themed games. I think that's why the Cheap Ass Games line is so much fun. Well, that, and they're cheap. I've played Fight City, but I think that's the only Cheap Ass game I've played. I remember liking the "backstory" to the game at the beginning of the rules. It said, "It's a city full of gangs, and they fight. How much more do you need to know?" I thought, "Hey, this is my kind of game." |
