Cross Promoting a Costume Party

Hey there ladies and gents!

Once you're done chuckling, come back to the Derby City Movie Maniacs on Meetup and sign up for the party. This one's going to be a doozy! There's so damn much going on that the Movie Maniacs have outgrown our usual Chatter's Grill location. Don't worry - we'll be back at Chatters on July 18 for our Grown Up Harry Potter Party.

Before that, though, we're holding a Speakeasy in honor of Johnny Depp's "Public Enemies."

For $25 preregister ($35 at the door) you get:

* a free engraved & red wax dipped Maker's Mark mason jar with a Maker's Mark Cocktail in it
* a Maker's Mark Master Distiller in mobster costume explaining about how bourbon is made
* My Old Kentucky Homebrew demonstrating how to brew at our prohibition party
* a mobster barber from Executive Spa performing live straight razor shaves
* a jail cell and corrupt cops who'll throw your friends in the clink for a bribe
* a godfather (and his bodyguards) who will send you on quests to win prizes including a bottle of Dumante, a Maker's Mark wax dipped fedora, plus a flask, moneyclips and cigars from J. Shepherd Cigars
* a J. Shepherd cigar girl selling her wares
* a plucky girl reporter documenting it all
* a fake newspaper full of period ads for contemporary companies and tie-in news stories explaining how to win prizes
* dancing and a live swing band

Mobster and Flapper attire highly encouraged. Otherwise, formal dress required. That just means a jacket and tie for the gents and an evening dress for the ladies. It's a great excuse to dress up for an affordable night on the town!
